In Russian Northern capital is over traditional Open swim Cup of Saint-Petersburg. The roster for recent World aquatic championship in Kazan was almost formed at April’s national meeting in Moscow. That is why its members at the finale stage of preparation to the major international aquatic forum swam at this tournament under high training loading, without any splashes and unexpected results.
Thus, a new sensational champion of Russia in 200 m free, 20-years-old Alexander Krasnykch with a time of 1.48,56 lost one touch to Olympic prizer and European champion at the event, Danila Izotov (1.48,52), who will swim in Kazan only in relays 4×100 m and 4×200 m free.
After this victory, a 23-years-old veteran of Russian team had made no secret of his real disappointment that he will not start at Worlds in his beloved distance. At the same time, he confirmed his punch to use all his forces and experience in order to help Russian relays’ teams to struggle in Kazan for medals.
Another sensational Russian champion in 100 m and 200 m back, 19-years-old Evgeni Rylov was demonstrating in Saint-Pet his many-sides swimming skills and won a final race in 50 m… fly with a 24,32.
In female part of competitions two-times Russian champion in backstroke, a Junior World record-holder and No 2 of international rating in 200 m back (2.07,29), 17-years-old Daria Ustinova without any rivalry won all events in backstroke. Her time in 200 m was 2.09,02, in 100 m — 1.00,37 (at Russian championship was a little be better — 59,89) and in 50 m — 28,80 (in Moscow was 28,37). Taking into account that Daria, as all her teammates, swam here on the background of big training work, her results in North Palmira on the level of top-10, could hope that a Russian young aquatic starlet, as she promised, will be on the pic of her form and with super motivation will be ready to battle in Kazan for medals.
For larger development of her own swimming skills Ustinova started also in 50 m free, was the second with a 25,70, yielding only to Russian champion of the vent Natalia Lovtsova (25,22), who made in Saint-Pet the symbolic hat-trick, vining three 50 m in free, in fly (27,11) and in 50 m breast (32,30).
